Join like-minded company in this tranquil Peak District location and enjoy a four-night painting holiday with experienced artist and tutor. Suitable for all abilities, learn about different artists, try different mediums and have a go at different subjects, choosing to paint inside or out of doors during the week.

Summer Painting in Constable Country

Summer at Dedham Hall is a perfect time to enjoy a painting holiday, using the grounds of the lovely hall and visiting places where Constable gained inspiration for his paintings.  Experienced NEAC artist, Paul will guide you through the painting days helping you to achieve interesting and rewarding art work.  Suitable for all abilities. 
Arriving in time for lunch (12 noon) on 30 July and leaving after breakfast on 3 August

Upcycling & Interior Design - Lampshade workshop

Join experienced interior designer, Lucy Renshaw and turn an old lampshade into a uniquely designed shade to take home with decorating materials provided.  Interior design ideas will be covered to help inspire and introducing further upcycling projects.  A creative and rewarding workshop suitable for all abilities.  
 
10 am - 3.45 pm.  Refreshments provided and with everyone bringing a packed lunch.

An old or new lampshade to work on

Mastering the Use of Colour in Watercolour

Keeping watercolour fresh, vibrant and exciting is a challenge – we are all familiar with ‘mud’ and similar problems. This workshop will help you avoid such difficulties and enable you to produce wonderfully colourful fresh paintings.

All the Colours of Summer - Textile workshop

Working with the colour of summer we will capture all the delights of flowers, plants and nature painting onto fabric before adding details with stitch, beads, threads and motifs to create a colourful bright textile panel that can be framed, made into a bag or a cushion.  An uplifting and rewarding workshop.  All the materials are provided for this workshop which is suitable for all abilities.

Delightful Needlefelt Animals with Jenny Barnett

Following our hugely popular workshop last year, Jenny returns with two days of needle felting, this time making a gorgeous felt fox on the first day and a felt badger on the second, along with an acorn or toadstool if time allows. This fabulous two-day workshop includes all materials.  Attend one or two days to suit.  Suitable for all abilities.

An Introduction to Printing

This is the perfect taster for beginners to lino printing (one colour) and will introduce you to lino cutting and printing along with collage – an addictive process which you can continue at your kitchen table at home. All the materials are provided for the informative and rewarding workshop.

Liz will provide specialist materials but please bring the following:

Light across a Flower Meadow in Acrylics

Capture dancing light across a meadow full of early summer flowers in acrylics with step by step guidance from professional artist Steve along with photographic reference to complete a picture at the end of the day.  Suitable for all abilities.
Steve returns again this year to deliver three acrylic painting workshops.  He is an apporachable friendly artist who explains clearly his step by step approach along with which paints and colours are best to use to achieve good results.
