Christmas workshop - Textiles

A Christmas themed workshop creating cards and decorations using hand or free-machine embroidery and applique.  Lots of images and samples and templates provided along with Christmassy fabrics and trims. A fabulously creative workshop to get you in the mood for the festive season. Suitable for all abilities and with all materials provided.  
 
10 am - 3.45 pm. Refreshments provided with everyone bringing a packed lunch.

‘Creative ideas for interpreting the landscape using acrylics and mixed media’

This will be a day in which we will experiment with ways in which we can create paintings that move away from the literal landscape painting to something a little more exciting – moving us out of our comfort zone!  Come along and enjoy this inspiring workshop!

Oil pastels if you have one or two.

Autumn Light through the Trees in Acrylics

Capture the autumn light through the trees of burnished reds and golds.  A true rendition of autumn working step by step and with photographic reference to complete an autumn scene by the end of the workshop. All abilities welcome.

Autumn Treasures - The Nature Table in Papers & Stitch

Spend the day creating your own autumn treasure from the Nature Table.  Using hand-made papers, maps and with the addition of birds  images, leaves, feathers and berries, create a lovely piece of work to frame as a picture or make into a cushion or bag using hand or machine stitch.  All the materials are provided.

The Allotment in Acrylics, Paper & Pastels!

Create a large scale allotment painting using mixed media, acrylic, papers and pastel.  A fabulously creative day observing a range of light, riot of colour and the joy of plants, sheds, greenhouses and flowers in the allotment.  A great course for getting out of your comfort zone and having a go at painting a large painting with blocks of bold colour.  Suitable for all abilities.

Second Stage Printing

This is an ideal workshop for those who have had a go at lino printing before and wish to extend their skills further.  Try two and three colour lino printing along with different techniques and printing processes with experienced artist, maker and tutor, Liz Wellby.

Liz will provide specialist materials but please bring the following:
-     an apron
-     masking tape
