After teaching the University of Sheffield Botanical Illustration Course at Rother Valley College Jennie became a founder member of the Independent Botanical Illustration Society where she created an on-going Project recording and illustrating native plants and associated insect life.
Jennie has concentrated on teaching (also as an external reader and moderator for Sheffield Hallam University) and has all levels of ability within her group bringing specialisms together with enthusiasm and success. Her aim is to inspire so that learners are able to achieve satisfying and rewarding outcomes.
Many of the group’s illustrations have been used for interpretation boards of local SSSI woodlands and some learners have had recognition by the SBA and the RHS.
While Jennie’s primary medium is watercolour she also teaches graphite pencil, coloured pencil crayons (dry and aquarelles) and pen and ink. And, sometimes pastels and acrylics!
Jennie’s has teaching awards, worked for botanists, has private commissions and continues to exhibit her work. See Jennie's work at www.jenniehinton.co.uk
